Nigeria's senate president Ahmed Lawan has described the Nigerian graduates as unproductive. While reacting to an issue concerning the educational curriculum in Nigeria. He stated that the current curriculum in Nigerian High institutions does not make the youths productive.
Lawan's position has re-echoed the views many educationists across the country who have called for an overhauling of the entire curriculum in schools. Many graduates in Nigeria face difficult situations after graduation. Many of them are unemployed and lack the relevant skills to meet up with the trend. His view has also generated so many reactions from youths, some of who criticized him for calling the youths unproductive. According to them the problem of the Nigerian youth is not the school curriculum, rather it is the lack of enabling environment for them to apply their skills and expertise.
